In this tutorial, we’ll learn how to draw three types of musical symbols: a beam note, an eighth note, and a treble clef, respectively. Have fun, and use your artistic skills! Step 1:
Start by marking the first musical character, which is the standard note. A beam note consists of two eighth consecutive notes combined into a single symbol. Start by drawing similar diagonal lines on the left flank of your writing. Then draw a vertical line at both ends of the parallel diagonal line. Keep in mind that all lines should have similar lengths.
Step 2:
Draw side oval shape on the left side of the left upright line we outlined in the previous stage. This forms the left eighth note symbol of the beam note. The oval shape should meet directly at the bottom of the left vertical line to form an eighth note, as shown in the illustration.
Step 3:
Repeat the last step on the straight vertical line. Similar to the previous step, the side oval shape should also be drawn on the left side of the vertical line. After completing this step, you should have two eighth notes connected, completing the shape of the first musical symbol in your drawing: the beam note.
Step 4:
Moving on to the second symbol, the eighth note, continue by drawing a vertical line under the beam note. This line serves as the basis of the eighth note. Then draw a diagonal rectangle at the top right connected directly to the stem. This forms the eighth note flag.
Step 5:
To complete the eighth note, draw a sideways oval shape to the bottom left of the stem we drew in the previous step. At this point, the eighth note shape should be complete. There you go: you have successfully drawn the second musical symbol. We’re almost done, so keep going!
Step 6:
We will work on the third and last musical symbol of our drawing: the treble clef. Draw a vertical line with a spiral bottom end. This makes the root of the triple clef. Remember that the lines that make up the treble clef should be relatively thicker than the lines that make up the other musical symbols.
Step 7:
Resume by removing a curved stripe at the top of the treble clef stem. Remember that the top of the treble clef should be pointed, as shown in the illustration above.
Step 8:
Extend the curved line strings by removing a larger curve on the opposing side of the bottom of the branch. The curve at the top of the stem should face left, while the bottom curve should face right. The curved line should almost form the letter “S” when drawn correctly.
Step 9:
Draw a circle from the bottom of the S-shaped curve we outlined in the earlier step. The spiral should overlap the stem of the treble clef. At this point, the triple clef should be quite structured. Now that we’ve drawn three musical symbols, it’s time for the part you’ve probably been waiting for the most. In this step, we will add colours to the musical symbols! As you can see in the illustration, we kept the colours of the musical symbols quite simple. We use yellow for the bar note and green for the eighth note.
The treble clef, on the other hand, has no colour because the lines are bold and black. The fun thing about this stage is that you can choose a unique set of colours and colour the music symbols any way you like! You can make them multicoloured if you wish. It’s up to you!
